Advair Diskus ( fluticasone and salmeterol) is a steroid based drug used for avoiding the symptoms of asthma and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).
It comes in a form of a preloaded disc container filled with blister packs, and it is taken twice a day. Only one inhalation in the morning and one in the evening is enough. It is easy to use and it has a built in dose counter, so a patient doesn’t have to keep track of the number of doses used.
Advair Discus is very effective in treating the conditions which include the compromised lung function such as emphysema and chronic bronchitis). It relaxes the muscles of the airways, allowing the patient to breathe easier.
However, Advair Discus is not adequate for certain types of patients. It has its restrictions on use, and can cause some mild side effects, and sometimes some very serious reactions.
